Rani Marie Ahnna Sethupathy
Our precious baby girl arrived at 11:30am on February 22nd!! (See below for the meaning of her name). Weighing in at 7lbs and 4 ounces and measuring 20 inches in length, she is a stunning, beautiful wonder. Both Mommy and baby are healthy and well. From start to finish, the labor lasted three and a half hours – intense and fast! Rebecca went completely au natural again (no drugs) and was simply incredible. Thank you for your prayers and excitement! We have a lot in store for us these next coming weeks! Enjoy the pictures on this blog!
First name: Rani Marie
Rani (Rah-nee) – A name of Sanskrit origin that means “queen”. It was also Praveen’s mother’s name. As she passed away when Praveen was very young, it has special meaning for us to have a daughter who will take her name.
Marie – The French variant of the Latin name Maria and Hebrew name Mary. Marie is the middle name of both Rebecca and Rebecca’s mother. We wanted Rani and Marie together to form her first name so that both maternal and paternal grandmothers are represented.
Middle name: Ahnna
Ahnna – A variant of the Hebrew name Anna which means “grace.” It is by grace that the Prince of Peace has set us free. And it is this grace that we pray will abide in her all the days of her life. Also, Ahnna is the name of the Prophetess who was one of the first in Jerusalem to lay her eyes on and recognize the baby Jesus as the Redeemer.

yay! i am so glad to get to see pictures of your beautiful girl! she has so much hair! and Caedmon seems quite interested. i love the nose poking picture too. she seems much bigger than caedmon when he was born. i can't wait to get to see her in person. congratulations you two. we are so thrilled to be aunt and uncle again!
